By Train


We can be reached by taxi from Westbury station which takes about a quarter of an hour. Below is a list of local taxi firms. Trains call at Westbury from, amongst other stations, London Paddington, Bristol, Taunton and Penzance. The train journey from Paddington takes approximately one and a half hours.

By Car

Directions from Bath

Take the A36 going south out of Bath. Approximately seven miles south of Bath you will come to a roundabout with a left hand turning signposted A361 to Trowbridge. Go straight over this roundabout taking signs to Warminster and Standerwick. Continue to the next roundabout again going straight over. This time you will see signs to Warminster, Standerwick and Rudge. A short distance after this there is a turning to the left signposted to Rudge and Brokerswood with The Bell on the corner. Take this turning. After approximately 0.8 of a mile you will come to The Full Moon on your right. Continue past the pub and its car park up Rudge Hill Lane. Near the top of the hill you will come to a small area of grass on the right with a central area with retaining walls. There is a small drive here in a semi-circle around the area of grass. Take this drive and go past the house on your right and Rudge Hill House is straight ahead of you. Follow the drive round to the right and you will find gates giving access to our drive with a small white garage on your right.

Directions from Chippenham

Travel south from Chippenham on the A350. About ten miles south of Chippenham you will come to Ashton Common. Continue along the A350. You will come to a cross roads with traffic lights with signs to Trowbridge to the right and Edington and West Ashton to the left. Continue straight over. At Yarnbrook you will come to a roundabout with a Texaco garage and a pub restaurant called the Longs Arms. Take signs to Frome, North Bradley, Trowbridge and Hawkeridge, passing the Longs Arms on your left going along Westbury Road. You will go under a railway bridge. At the next roundabout, go straight over taking signs to Frome and North Bradley. At the next roundabout (where you will see the Rising Sun pub) turn left taking signs to Southwick and after more than half a mile turn left signposted Brokerswood Park and Rudge. This road winds backwards and forwards for about 2 miles until you come to the Kicking Donkey pub on your right. Carry on another quarter of a mile and you will come to a T junction where there is the Full Moon pub. Turn right past the Full Moon pub and its car park. Continue up Rudge Hill Lane. Near the top of the hill you will come to a small area of grass on the right with a central area with retaining walls. There is a small drive here in a semi circle around the area of grass. Take this drive and go past the house on your right and Rudge Hill House is straight ahead of you. Follow the drive round to the right and you will find gates giving access to our drive with a small white garage on your right.

Directions from London via M4

Take the M4 going west from London. Come off at exit 17 and take the A350 going South signed posted to Warminster. About ten miles South of Chippenham you will come to Ashton Common. Continue along the A350. You will come to a cross roads with traffic lights with signs to Trowbridge to the right and Edington and West Ashton to the left. Continue straight over. Directions from London via M3

Take the M3 going West from London and then take the A303. Take Exit 8 from the M3 going on to the A303 towards Andover and after you have passed Stonehenge you will come to the junction with the A36. Take the A36 going towards Warminster. You will come to a roundabout with turn offs to the A350 to Chippenham and to the B3414 to Warminster. Carry on on the A36 to Bristol and Bath. 3 miles after this roundabout having gone under a railway bridge you will see a turning to your right signposted Rudge and Brokerswood with The Bell on the corner.
