She is a well-known writer on taxation. Her published works include Hutton & McKie on Stamp Duty Land Tax, Tolley’s Estate Planning, McKie on Statutory Residence and numerous articles in the technical press.
She was awarded the Chartered Institute of Taxation’s Fellowship Medal for the best fellowship submission of the year in 2014.
Sharon enjoys the pleasures of rural life finding a welcome change from the rigours of her profession in chutney making, where her efforts have been rewarded with many prizes. She has learnt to use the produce of her garden and orchard in a variety of ways; her award-winning damson gin and vodka is legendary in local circles. She keeps fit by rowing and by long walks with her dog and, after many years, she is re-learning the piano.
